Getting Started with Extend with Shopify
In this section we'll review what steps we need to take to get started with our Shopify integration.
Important: Contractual Agreement RequiredWhile the Extend Shopify app can be downloaded and installed, the app will NOT FUNCTION WITHOUT A CONTRACTUAL agreement to offer product, shipping, or post-purchase options to your customers on behalf of Extend. Once an agreement has been established, Extend will activate the app to allow it to function properly with Shopify.
Prerequisites
- Active Shopify store
- Signed partnership agreement with Extend
- Store owner or staff account with app installation permissions
Installing the Extend Post‑Purchase Solutions App
Considerations
- Once the app is installed, Extend will have access to your Orders, Products, and Customer information
Integrating with Extend is simple using Shopify extensions. The app integrates seamlessly with your store to provide product protection, shipping protection, and post-purchase options through Shopify's native extension system.
- Download the app here
- Click install:
🥳 Congratulations! You've completed the app installation. Your Extend integration is now ready.
Next Steps
Configure Your Protection Offers
Now that the app is installed, you can configure your protection offerings:
Accessing your Merchant Portal Account
Accessing the Merchant Portal is not required for basic app setup and operation. The Merchant Portal provides additional tools for managing your protection offerings, themes, and analytics.
Once the app installation is completed, you will receive an email to setup your Okta account, which provides access to the Extend Merchant Portal. The Merchant Portal allows you to:
- Customize offer themes and appearance
- View analytics and reporting
- Manage protection plan configurations
- Access advanced settings
If you have any issues during setup, please reach out to your onboarding contact.
Need Assistance?
If you require Extend to assist you with an integration, you can do so by following these steps:
- Create a ticket through your Merchant Portal account
- An Extend support engineer will reach out to you to request access to your Shopify store. The request will come from [email protected]
- Install Shopify's Theme Access app
- Await instructions from the Extend Support Engineer
